RIM announces BBM Music

Research In Motion (RIM) has announced BBM Music that is their own cloud based music service with the social features like music sharing and discovery for their BlackBerry smartphone. The BBM Music is powered by cloud music service provider, Omnifone and it has millions of songs from leading music companies such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI. The BBM music lets you listen to full tracks from the friend's profile, build a music profile with 50 of your favorite songs with an option to swap 25 songs each month and create multiple playlist. You can invite BBM friends to BBM Music and can share the songs with the BBM Music Community, view what your friends are listening to, and comment on their songs and playlists. The BBM Music app also shows recent updates of the song added or removed, playlist created and comments made by friends in the timeline view. The songs can also be saved to the phone to listen them offline. The closed beta trial of the BBM Music service starts from today in Canada, the United States and the UK.
