Samsung Galaxy series gets simplified naming, announces 4 new Galaxy Smartphones

Samsung has announced that they have adopted a new simplified naming strategy for its GALAXY range of smartphones. This would categorize the phones into five classes mentioned by a single letter. They have also launched new GALAXY W, GALAXY M Pro, GALAXY Y and GALAXY Y Pro smartphones that runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). New Naming system for Galaxy Smatphones “S” (Super Smart / Flagship) will only be used on flagship devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S “R” (Royal / Refined / Premium) are the Premium category models that combines power, performance and productivity “W” (Wonder / High Tier) are the High quality, strategic models, perfect for those seeking a balance between style and performance. “M” (Magical / Mid-Tier) are the High-performance models at an economic price-point. “Y” (Young / Entry Level) are entry models for emerging markets or for the younger audience more sensitive to price. There are also class indication for some of the Galaxy Smatphones “Pro” indicates that the device includes a QWERTY keyboard for better messaging and email “Plus” indicates that the device is an upgrade from an existing model. “LTE” indicates that the device is designed to utilize LTE (Long-Term Evolution) connectivity standards, a 4G standard to provide increased mobile network capacity and speed.
